432 Hearts is an online marketplace that showcases independent designers and conscious festival brands for consumers to have a one-stop-shopping center that supports their unique self-expression and contributes to a positively transformed world.
Making garments as accessible as possible is a key factor in the business model—this includes a recycling / resale program and an online consignment format (think Etsy + Poshmark for high-quality / ethical festival fashion).
We want to move away from fast fashion.
Making a dent in waste management requires the fashion industry to make big moves away from fabrics made from cheap plastic.
High-fashion modeling is dangerous
The culture of high-fashion is vapid, dark, competitive, ego-driven, exclusive, hierarchical, disconnected, and dangerous. People in the industry turn a blind eye to the corruption. Our approach highlights inclusivity, LGBTQ, all-bodies, and is wellness-focused.
432 Hearts exists to restore integrity to the fashion industry and empower ethical fashion choices for the every day consumer.
We work with designers that are exploring and implementing sustainable and ethical material options as a requirement for partnership (e.g. hemp fur, apple-based leather, etc.)
Fashion is politial.
As a society, the goods we make, distribute, purchase, wear, and use continue to degrade in quality and create immense waste that our planet can no longer sustain.
We need a paradigm shift away from immediate gratification and planned obsolescence to consuming and manufacturing products that last and have meaning.
By scaling down to local makers and smaller production cycles, we can make the current systems of mass production obsolete.
Fashion show parties (and festivals) are organized to create hype and exposure for the brand and our designers.
Clothes are freely worn at the parties and can be purchased at the end of the night.
A designer lookbook creates awareness for our designers.
Eventually, we want to help designers make and distribute their typically handmade items as well as hire designers to create an in-house product line. Exclusivity of the work will also drive hype. Once items are out, they are out.
